Diego Petersen (Guadalajara, 1964) studied Communication Sciences at ITESO, the Jesuit University of Guadalajara, where he began his career as an information analyst, and lecturer on Political Communication and the Reality of the Nation. In 1987 he ventured into journalism for the weekly Paréntesis, and became its director from 1990 to 1991. The same year he joined the founding group of the daily Siglo 21 in Guadalajara, where he served as editor, deputy editor in chief and then editorial director. In 1997 he started the daily newspaperPúblico with Jorge Zepeda Patterson and held the post of general director from 1999 to 2010. Currently he is chief editor and daily correspondent of El Informador in Guadalajara, where he writes a column from Monday to Thursday.  He has also contributed to El UniversalNexosGatopardoEl País,El Economista, the web page Sinembargo.com, among others. In 2014 Editorial Planeta published his first novel, Los que habitan el abismo.
